History
Quality Aircraft Accessories was founded in 1999 by Justin Hicks, an aviation mechanic and aviation enthusiast. Justin had worked as a mechanic in an engine accessory shop beginning in 1989 and then in 1993, he obtained his A&P license. That same year, he went into business as a partner in another engine accessory shop. In 1999, he started Quality Aircraft Accessories and has been growing the company's ability to serve the general aviation market ever since.
In 2004, Justin's wife, Lorie, answered Justin's plea to "come in and help us file one day a week" which, of course, turned into full time assistance in sales and management of the company in no time.
In 2008, an investment group led by the private equity firm Hastings Equity Partners partnered with Justin to help expand the business. As part of the new venture, Brett Benton joined the company as president. Brett started his career in general aviation 20 years ago.
Future plans include the addition of a fuel shop, expanded overhaul capabilities, and an expanded distribution business.
